This is my home. One of the reasons I wanted to become a minimalist was because I felt like my life was spiralling out of control. Usually when I'm having a difficult period in my life I have a look around me at my home, the spaces where I live. More often then not they are a mess, full of useless receipts, unworn clothes, paperwork I don't need to keep, decorative items that I bought in a moment of weakess but really don't even like. I'm the kind of person who really can't function in a space of clutter and mess (I think a lot of people can't, they just don't know it). When I moved into my house in Ashfield I knew that I couldn't and I wouldn't let it become the overgrown jungle of stuff that all my previous homes had become. I need to feel peace - and I often find that in my home. Our lives are so full of stresses - work, relationships, finances, family, study. When my home is a place of peacefulness and calm, my life soon follows.
